the proof is in the (sugar free) pudding

I wanted to title this post "ewwww, who let me out looking like that!" But Dad2Amara thought that was a little harsh.

But there's nothing little about this.

The photo on the left was taken a year ago this week.

Stacy and Clinton should have come after me. That sleeveless campshirt does not look attractive on me. And I think I lived in those capris because nothing else fit my large body.

2011 was the year I was going to make changes. Number 1 on my list: to drop four points on the BMI scale. I no longer wanted to be "obese."

So I consulted a dietitian. Sought the help of a personal trainer. It's been a long, slow road. And the journey is not yet complete.

But you're looking at a new me: 29 pounds lighter, four dress sizes smaller (on a good day), and 5.1 points down on the BMI scale. And for the record, those capris? Yea, can no longer wear them, they literally fall off of me.

I know I have a long way before I hit thin.

But I'm proud of the one resolution I've kept. How are your New Year resolutions going?
